Western Investor Feature

Blog by Frank Ingham | December 22nd, 2023

A farm listing that I recently sold was featured in Western Investor. It's worth noting that contrary to the headline and some speculations, this property was purchased by a local Pemberton family who are dedicated to using it for farming purposes.

Pemberton has long been under the radar in terms of its fertile farmland and is often grouped into a category of a bedroom community to Whistler. While it's true that over the last five years, families from the city, Whistler, and overseas have purchased farmland to build new homes, the land remains zoned agricultural and can continue to be used for farming.

The Valley has several well-established and forward-thinking produce and meat growers who operate successful businesses. They supply the Sea-To-Sky corridor through grocery stores and farmers' markets. Supporting these local farming operators and some of their progressive ideas is crucial for sustaining Pemberton's agricultural base, which can continue to grow with cooperation and innovative thinking.
